Declan McDonell commits to Providence
- Updated: October 3, 2018

As I’ve said previously, I managed to miss more than a few college commitments during the off-season and I will be updating them over the next few days. Next up is Declan McDonell who committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey at Providence College on June 22nd this summer. McDonnell announced his decision following his season with the National Championship winning Buffalo Jr Sabres 15U squad.

McDonnell, a 5-foot-10 175 pound forward from Lake View, NY won the scoring title in the T1EHL 15U league last year with 43 points after netting 24 goals and 19 assists. His off-season didn’t just include a commitment to the Friars, as Declan was selected in the third round of both the USHL Futures Draft and the OHL Priority Selection by the Lincoln Stars and Kitchener Rangers respectively. McDonnell will play this season as a 16 year old with the 20U Buffalo Jr. Sabres of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
