Mike Coyne Commits to Robert Morris

Wenatchee Wild captain Mike Coyne has committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey at Robert Morris beginning with the 2016-2017 season. Coyne, a 6-foot-1 185 pound forward from Kenmore, NY is played last season with the Wenatchee Wild of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), a Junior A hockey league in Western Canada. Coyne played the previous two seasons for the Wild in the NAHL before the team moved to the BCHL this season. Previous to his time in Wenatchee, Coyne spent two seasons with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres U16 & U18 teams of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League.

Previously committed to United States Military Academy at West Point (ARMY), Coyne had 16 goals and 31 assists for 47 points in 58 games in Wenatchee this season. Coyne will be joining fellow Buffalo native Kyle Eastman on the Colonials, who play in the Atlantic Hockey conference along with RIT, Canisius and Niagara.
